Prize of the Jacek Kaczmarski Council
Jacek Kaczmarski was strongly connected with Krakow and The Student Song Festival. He made his debute here in 1977 and won the first prize for the song 'Oblawa'. He was one of the most distinguished artists, he had composed in very dificult time. For generations of studedents and for the Festival he was a man who formed characters and philosophy of life.
Jacek Kaczmarski songs are associated with important moments during our history, and made up a bakground of getting back our freedom. We are very grateful for his work. It is very important that for this years he was a friend and co-author of the Student Song Festival, he was the juror of the festival and member of the Artistic Councli. To honour his memory in 2004 the Festival has brought into being the Council of the Jacek Kaczmarski name.
The council is represented his friends and laureates: Jan Wołek, Alicja Delgas, Roman Kołakowski, Marek Tercz, Grzegorz Tomczak, Andrzej Poniedzielski, Mirosław Czyżykiewicz (Nagroda 2004), Adam Nowak (Nagroda 2005), Piotr Rogucki (Nagroda 2006). In 2007 the prize was found by Andrzej Urbański the chairman of board the Polish Television and has joined to the council. |
